Martina Jezkova, MPT

Martina Jezkova is a senior physiotherapist at the Motol Hospital, Department of Rehabilitation, Charles University, in Prague, Czech Republic. She completed her physiotherapy training in the Czech Republic.  She also has completed numerous professional courses including the Brügger approach, the functional assessment and treatment according to Mojžíšová for pelvic floor and musculoskeletal conditions, Klapp Crawling for scoliosis treatment, and kinesiotaping. Since 2004 she has served as a certified instructor in musculoskeletal techniques according to Professor Karel Lewit. She is also a certified Vojta Therapist for newborns, children, and adult patients. 

Martina has worked extensively with Professor Pavel Kolar at Motol Hospital for many years. She has advanced training in the application of Dr. Kolar’s Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS) therapy in clinical settings as well as for elite athletes.  She is in high demand as an instructor, inspiring her students with her joyful and positive skilled teaching style, which she has applied to teaching DNS and yoga courses worldwide. 

As a qualified yoga teacher, she has integrated her knowledge of DNS with yoga when teaching both in private classes and therapeutic outpatient classes at Motol Hospital. She has been teaching “Yoga in Rehabilitation” courses in the Czech Republic for the last 5 years, and as the popularity of her classes grew she has been invited to teach this topic for osteopaths, chiropractors and physiotherapists in Canada, Europe, Australia, the United States and now Asia.

        本課程專為皮拉提斯指導員專業人員所精心設計。旨在幫助學員將DNS技術融入皮拉提斯運動，讓皮拉提斯運動更安全、更有效能。對於想將皮拉提斯運動融入治療流程的醫療人員，本課程能提供極為紮實的訓練，融合了DNS關節軸心化技術、特殊的動態穩定技術(Stabilization with mobility)，因此對於皮拉提斯指導員來說也是一種完美的訓練策略。

【課程大綱】 Outline

  • Review of DNS principles for Pilates from course 1.
  • Review of developmental kinesiology in the context of adult optimal posture, Pilates exercise.
  • Define and analyse global movement patterns in DNS and Pilates systems.
  • Global movement patterns and the relationship to enhancing outcomes in Pilates and human movement.
  • Detailed analysis of muscle co-activation in differentiated movement patterns, contralateral and ipsilateral, as they occur in DNS and Pilates exercises.
  • Demonstrate exercises in higher developmental positions – oblique sit, tripod, bear, squat, lunge, step up and its modifications & training of body awareness.
  • Detailed analysis and practice of ipsilateral and contralateral patterns in all movement planes in Pilates Systems.
  • Define dynamic stabilisation and joint centration within DNS and Pilates exercises and transitions.
  • Discuss importance of incorporating sagittal stabilisation and adequate proportions of global movement patterns on all movement planes (flexion, extension, lateral flexion, rotation), in Pilates exercise programs.
  • Detailed analysis and practice of joint centration in different supporting zones in DNS and Pilates exercises. E.g. hands, feet, shins and ischial tuberosities.
  • Analyse and practice how the base of support changes on floor (mat) and apparatus and throughout an exercise/movement.
  • Practice and instruct joint centration throughout entire kinetic chain and entire range of motion, in DNS and Pilates exercises.
  • Review Pilates program design from a DNS perspective, incorporating SS and a balance of global movement patterns in all three planes of movement to bring balance to clients bodies.
