Kenneth J. Lossing, DO

        Kenneth J. Lossing, DO, has been studying visceral manipulation with Jean-Pierre Barral, DO (France), for 30 years.An internationally recognized lecturer, Dr. Lossing contributed to the second and third editions of the American Osteopathic Association’s Foundations of Osteopathic Medicine textbook.As the Academy’s 2014-15 president, Dr. Lossing starred in a two-minute video segment of “American Health Front!” that focused on osteopathic manipulative medicine.

        Lossing醫師跟隨Jean-Pierre Barral一起研究內臟手法近30年，他是一位國際知名的講師，同時也是第二與第三版「美國骨病學教科書(American Osteopathic Association’s Foundations of Osteopathic Medicine textbook)」的共同作者。他曾於2014-15年擔任美國骨病學會理事長。Lossing醫師在1944年畢業於著名的A.T. Still University–Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine，之後在俄亥俄大學骨病學醫學院(Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine)的神經肌骨醫學科與家醫科實習並擔任實習醫師。他同時具有神經肌骨醫學與家醫科的執照，Lossing醫師目前定居加州San Rafael在自已開設的診所繼續臨床工作。

由於Lossing醫師同時具有家醫科與骨病學醫師資格，更與內臟大師Jean-Pierre Barral醫師有30年的共同合作經驗，因此Lossing醫師所涉略領域非常廣泛，其中又以內臟、顱骨、大腦、情緒、胚胎與人體熱學技術為主。TIFAR日後也將逐年引進這些獨特、實用的課程。

【課程簡介】 Introduction

        In this course we will learn how to palpate, diagnose, and treat dysfunctions in the vis- ceral venous system. We will palpate the “Qi/ electric /ionic charge” or “potency” in the venous blood, to help us located where the deep veins are. When the veins feel “out of syn” with the upstream vein, we can feel a disharmony between them, so that we can tell where to treat. We will also palpate for turbulence, flow rates, and global function. Treatment will be mostly done with obser- vation, as the observation shifts the thing.When the veins come into syn, we can pal- pate or sense, a greater and better-defined flow, resulting in a “release or shift.” Where possible, we will also cross correlate mobility and listening tests pre and post treatment, to be able to quantify the results.

【課程大綱】 Outline

  • Palpate the difference between arterial and venous blood.
  • Palpate and distinguish between the vein wall and the blood inside.
  • Palpate the blood flow, it’s direction, strength, change with breathing, and its charge.
  • Palpate/sense where the venous blood is disturbed.
  • Cross correlate blood flow and mobility/motility.
  • Begin to distinguish upstream and down- stream quality and disturbances.
  • Evaluate the motion characteristics of the lungs, heart, diaphragm, liver, stom- ach, duodenum, pancreas, small intes- tine, large intestine, spleen, kidneys, and the pelvic organs.Time permitting, we will also evaluate and treat the thyroid, adrenals, and gonads.
